March Classes and Inspiration

Around the Spinney

What happened Around the Spinney this month:

February was a fast month, but oh so fun! We even had a few days of warmer temperatures and sunshine, which was amazing. We always have a week of winter break in February and unexpectedly, we used that time off to order some new furniture and rearrange our house. I was planning on doing that this summer, but some good sales helped us to do it sooner!

My two littlest girls, 5 and 7 years old, moved out of their bunk bed into single beds. We used the opportunity to get all 3 girls nicer dressers and bedside tables as well.

In our living room, we went from cloth couches to leather because the boys in our house are actually allergic to our two Australian Shepherds! I'm hoping that will help them a bit with their sniffles this year.

Even in the midst of rearranging chaos, I was able to do a lot of sewing and I can't wait to share some of it with you over the next few weeks!

Hand Embroidery 101 is perfect for total newbies and those who want to get reacquainted with simple embroidery stitches. You simply learn while you play around with the fabric and floss!

Hand Embroidery 102 builds on those simple stitches with a few additional stitches and inspiration. The real difference is that you will work to complete a finished piece. Your Anna Maria panel can be transformed into a pillow, a tote bag, or anything else that you want it to be.

Visible Mending is all about restoring clothing and textiles with love and stitches. I'll teach you a few simple ways to add embellished stitches while patching up tears in the items you love!

Until next time, keep on looking for some sunshine on these cold days and I'll see you Around the Spinney!
